AN Old English Sheepdog, which had a lucky escape when it ran across a motorway, has been found after ten days on the run.
Four-year-old Ben jumped out of a car at Scotch Corner services in North Yorkshire, on Monday, December 27.
He escaped serious injury when he ran across the A1, including crossing the central reservation.
Yesterday, he was found at a home in nearby Skeeby, not far from Richmond.
Ben had been spotted several times in the Skeeby area since his escape.
He was recognised after appeals appeared in the Press, including The Northern Echo, and posters and leaflets were put up around the village.
Patricia Bradley, from the North East Old English Sheepdog Rescue Organisation, said that the man who found him had been reading a leaflet.
She said: "Just after that, he saw him in his back garden and thought it was a joke to begin with.
"I just want to say a big thank you to all the people of Skeeby. They have been absolutely fantastic. On Sunday, we had about 20 or 30 people combing the area, looking for him.
"As you can imagine, he's absolutely terrified and we had to give him some sedation, but he's eating, which is a good thing. He will be all right now.
