A CEREMONY was held in Durham to switch off the Christmas lights.
Daryl Denham and Vic Ribbands, presenters of Century FM's breakfast show, turned off the festive lights at the Prince Bishops Shopping Centre. They were switched on by Coronation Street's Keith Duffy.
Centre manager Richard Toynbee said: "We were thrilled when Century FM suggested sending the breakfast team over to turn our Christmas lights off. Usually people request to turn them on, not off, so this was a bit of fun."
Daryl said: "We felt that we needed cheering up after Christmas, so why not a light switch-off? I think shoppers enjoyed the joke."
