COUNCILLORS are to be given an update on repairs to potholes in a Teesdale village.
For several years, the potholes around the centre of Evenwood have been the source of controversy.
The county council has refused to adopt the roads until they are in a suitable condition.
However, in the past nobody has taken ownership of the roads.
Teesdale District Council's overview and scrutiny committee resolved at its last meeting to look into the problem.
Councillor Donald Metcalfe is to give a verbal report to members of the committee on how the issue is progressing at the next meeting on Wednesday.
Some of the holes have already been filled and information is being sought as to whether the parish council feels the problem has been resolved.
