A DRIVE to recruit more social care staff gets under way next week.
Durham County Council is joining a national campaign, which will run until February 4 to encourage more people to consider a career in social care. The authority has vacancies for social workers, care assistants, home carers, cooks, drivers and domestic staff across the country.
Debbie Jones, the authority's director of social care and health, said: "There are career opportunities working with children, supporting adults with learning disabilities or mental health needs and providing vital care to older people."
