A SCIENCE student has received a top award.
Cheryl Connorton, 22, received the Cleveland Scientific Institute Presidential Award, as the brightest young prospect on Teesside.
University lecturers nominated her when she was an apprentice at technical training company TTE.
She will now continue her full-time studies towards a degree in molecular science at the University of Teesside, which she is due to finish in May.
Cheryl also received £400 towards her studies.
She said: "When I found out I had been nominated for the award I was really surprised and when I went on to win it I was delighted. I enjoyed my time at TTE."
