THE owners of a Darlington kebab shop are looking to expand their business abroad after listening to comments from customers.
Kath Smith and her stepson, Anthony Coluqhun, have set their sights on opening a second branch of their takeaway shop, Antoni's, in Spain.
Mr Coluqhun is flying to the Benidorm area on Thursday for a five-day trip with his father, Peter Smith, to search for potential premises.
Mrs Smith, 48, from Darlington, said the idea came when customers at the shop in Gladstone Street complained about not being able to get a good kebab abroad.
"We want to see if there is the demand for a pizza or kebab shop over there - from what people tell us, there is," she said.
"If we do open one up, Anthony will probably go out there to run it with his family.
"The prospect is exciting from a business point of view, but daunting to think that some of my family will be leaving.
"It is very early days at the moment."
