A 29-year-old man yesterday appeared in court charged with murder following an incident at a wedding reception in a rural village farmhouse.
Geoffrey Hearn, of Northmoor Road, Walkergate, Newcastle, appeared at Berwick Magistrates' Court charged with murder.
Jason Howard died after a wedding in the remote village of Rock, near Alnwick, in Northumberland, which is home to only 30 families.
The marriage of Andy Corbett and Elaine Howard, was the village church's first wedding in five years.
Bride's relative Mr Howard, 34, of Queen Street, Stony Stratford, Milton Keynes, died in Wansbeck General Hospital, in the early hours of Sunday.
A post-mortem examination revealed Mr Howard had been stabbed.
A plea and directions date was set for February 1 at Newcastle Crown Court.
