Newcastle Falcons have been dealt another injury blow with the news that Andy Buist has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
The second row ruptured anterior cruciate knee ligaments in the 33-12 Heineken cup defeat against Perpignan at the weekend.
The injury adds to a growing list including Jonny Wilkinson, Jamie Noon, Epi Taione, Dave Walder, Ed Williamson, David Wilson and Ben Woods.
The 20-year-old had made his ninth appearance of the season at the weekend but was stretched off after coming on as a replacement. "We're all desperately sorry for Andy to have suffered such a serious injury at a stage in his career when he was really stepping up into the first team and performing well" said Director of Rugby Rob Andrew.
The Falcons face a massive test this weekend as they host Newport Gwent Dragons in the Heineken Cup (1pm).
