VOLUNTEERS are needed to help out with one of Durham's most popular causes.
St Cuthbert's Hospice, which provides palliative care for those diagnosed with terminal illness, has issued an urgent appeal for volunteers to help out in its charity shops in Langley Moor, Langley Park, Durham City and Spennymoor.
The hospice also needs assistance in its kitchens on Tuesdays, as well as more car drivers and gardeners. Already it has more than 320 volunteers on its books - thought to be the largest bank of volunteers in the city.
Anyone who can offer help is asked to contact volunteer co-ordinator Amy Farquhar on 0191-386 1170
