THE long-term future of a sheltered housing complex has yet to be resolved.
One of the options for the future of Maple Creek at Masham, near Ripon, could be an extra care facility for the elderly.
But while council chiefs ponder its future, tenants have been concerned about the reluctance to undertake any non-essential repairs and improvements.
A report to Harrogate Borough Council's cabinet member for housing, Councillor Jean Butterfield, says that a decision to put capital investment on hold "is reasonable and does not cause any significant disadvantage to tenants".
To maximise its development potential, council housing chiefs say it would be reasonable to secure interest from as wide a range of people as possible.
Although fully let at present, there is concern about longer term demand.
Meanwhile, in a bid to prevent a repeat of a heating system failure that caused problems two years ago, council bosses have already bought a potential replacement so repairs could be completed immediately.
The report is due to be considered next Tuesday.
