AN artist is to reveal the stories behind his pictures.
Landscape artist Robert Perry has created a series of paintings of the battlefields of Europe using a converted van as a mobile studio.
Some of his work was created in the tunnels and underground shelters beneath the battlefields of The Somme, working by lamplight. An exhibition of his work opens at the Durham Light Infantry Museum and Durham Art Gallery on Saturday, January 22, and runs until February 27.
Mr Perry will visit the museum between 10am and noon and again between 2pm and 4pm on Saturday, January 22, to meet visitors. Normal admission charges of £3 for adults, £2 for concessions and £1.25 for children will apply.
The artist will return on Saturday, February 12, at 2pm to give a talk about his work. Admission is by ticket only, £4 for adults, £3 for concessions and £2.25 for children.
