Spennymoor manager Graeme Clark believes today's FA Trophy tie at Eastwood Town is their "biggest game of the season."

Moors, still the last North-East club to reach the semi-finals way back in 1978, go to the UniBond First Division club seeking a place in the last 32, and Clark said: "This is the biggest game of the season for us. The players know how much it means to the club, the supporters and to themselves.

"It can give everybody a huge boost if we get through, both on and off the field. It's a few years since the club got into the fourth round.

"We've had three straight wins, and that has bred confidence throughout the squad, and that in turn breeds good habits.

"But we won't be underestimating Eastwood because they've already had a couple of good results."

Striker Tommy Raw will probably return to the side after being sidelined for the last three weeks because of injury, while Moors are also hoping that international clearance will finally come through from Queen of the South for midfielder Chris Scott.

Whitby are also in FA Trophy action against Hyde, who are pushing for promotion to the Conference alongside them.

Bishop Auckland have another chance to lift themselves off the bottom of the table when they go to Burscough this afternoon.

While Bishops were kicking their heels because of the bad weather last Saturday, Frickley dumped them back on the bottom again.

Bishops' boss Brian Honour said: "We were all a little deflated last Saturday but we've got to keep working hard and get good results."

Jack Wilkinson and Mark Sheeran will probably team up together in the forward line, while Michael Coulthard and Mark Foster will return to the defence.

Bishops will be hoping for favours from other clubs elsewhere. Fourth-bottom Blyth are at home to Guiseley, while Gateshead, who are just above the relegation zone, are at Matlock.

Harrogate Town have been rocked by the resignation of manager John Reed.

Reed has been at the Wetherby Road club for almost five years, but has joined Conference North strugglers Stalybridge Celtic.

Assistant Mark Atkins, the former Blackburn Rovers player, has also left for Stalybridge.

Harrogate are third in Conference North in the club's most successful season in their history.

The club has appointed new signing Lee Philpott, formerly of Leicester City, as caretaker manager and he will be in charge today at Wetherby Road against Stafford Rangers.

* The Wearside League's match of the day is between leaders Darlington RA and third-top Coxhoe Athletic at Brinkburn Road.

Following their midweek defeat, victory for Coxhoe is essential if they are to have a realistic chance of finishing at the top in their first season in the league.

But RA are also under pressure - Stokesley SC are now only four points behind with a game in hand.

"We have not played since before Christmas and I expect to have a strong side for what will be a difficult task," said RA manager David Woodcock, who earlier in the week completed the signing of Glen Sweeney from Guisborough Town.

Andrew Singlewood, Michael Carter and Martin Brown all return as RA attempt to maintain their impressive record by winning for the 18th time in 22 games.

Stokesley SC are not so fortunate for their visit to Annfield Plain. Matthew Homan (hamstring), Richard Hore (groin) and Jonathan Newton (calf) are all absentees. The Plain anticipate having a full squad.

Cleadon SC, hoping to finish in the top three, take on Birtley Town at Jack Clark Park without suspended Mark Johnson. Birtley boss Dave Smith reports no injuries or suspensions and will name a strong line-up.

Ferryhill Athletic boss Mark Fanning is confident of signing a goalkeeper and centre back in time for his side's visit to Harton and Westoe. Although Jim Kirtley is doubtful through injury, Tony Stafford, Ryan Stonehouse and Stuart Cottam resume.

The home side cannot call upon Shaun Fraser but David Myers has recovered from injury and will take over in the centre of defence.

Ryhope CW, who recently lost to Shotton Comrades in the Monkwearmouth Charity Cup, will be out for revenge and will turn out a stronger team. Michael Burlinson has returned from holiday and it is confidently anticipated that Kevin Bennison will be fit. Liam Routledge and Kevin Berry will undergo late checks.

Graham Best and David Ward resume for Washington Nissan UK at home to Wolviston, who include Alan Wigglesworth, Matt Ruse and Shaun Braithwaite.
