A CAMPAIGN encouraging youngsters to be more enterprising has won the backing of a North artist.
Effie Burns, 30, of Scarborough, is supporting the Drop the T campaign run by regional development agency One NorthEast.
The artist established her business designing and installing glass sculptures five years ago and has seen her work appear in Inland Revenue and Northern Rock buildings in Newcastle as well as the recovery rooms in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Gateshead.
She said: "The Drop The T campaign is a great idea because I really believe that people are often more talented and capable than they think they area. By being encouraged to believe in their ideas and given some assistance in making them happen, they are really likely to surprise themselves."
One NorthEast hopes parents, teachers and other young people will join the campaign urging young people to drop the 't' from 'can't'.
