A CUB scout group has planted 5,000 snowdrop bulbs in memory of two scout leaders who died last year.
The wetland site, on playing fields in Heighington, near Darlington, was chosen for the memorial to Natasha Wilson and Andrew Muckley.
Both scout leaders died last year within six weeks of each other from long-term illnesses. Mr Muckley had been in the scout movement for about 30 years.
Cubs from the Heighington Baden Powell Scout Group planted the bulbs on the site.
Sharon Marshall, from the troop, said: "Both Natasha and Andrew were passionate about the great outdoors so this will be a very fitting memorial."
