PUB quiz teams have donated almost £800 to the Richmond Meet.
The £783 was raised by teams which attend the Monday quiz night at the Unicorn, in Newbiggin, Richmond.
It was donated to the Meet's charity fund, which is used to help local groups and individuals finance projects which they wish to develop.
Last year, the Meet awarded more than £4,000 to deserving causes.
Richard Bateman, from the Unicorn, presented the cheque to Meet president Pauline Dowse.
She said: "The Meet is in a somewhat unique position to be able to identify local needs and, when possible, is always willing to help those in need, especially when it will have a direct effect on Richmond and the surrounding area. I, and the Meet, sincerely thank Richard and the teams for their help."
She said the Meet was already planning this year's event, which will be staged over the May Bank Holiday weekend.
Organisers hope that there will be more floats for the parade, which is the centrepiece of the event. Anyone wishing to take part is asked to contact them on (01748) 822840.
