Bishop Auckland manager Brian Honour admitted that his side deserved nothing in a 4-0 defeat at Burscough on Saturday.
Bishops are still bottom of the table, and they are now five points from safety following Frickley's second successive win.
Honour said: "We were beaten by a better side, but Burscough themselves have beaten some very good teams lately.
"We had a bad day, but we must take it on the chin. It's a difficult fixture out of the way. We must concentrate on winning against teams around us in the table."
Bishops' cause wasn't helped by an early injury to Steve Salvin following a clash of heads.
Blyth, meanwhile, drew 2-2 with Guiseley at Croft Park after leading twice with goals by Chris McCabe and Scott Bell.
Gateshead, who are looking for a new permanant manager following the departure of Alan Bell, drew 1-1 at Matlock, Paul Buzzeo scoring their goal.
Spennymoor's dreams of FA Trophy glory were dashed when they lost 3-2 at underdogs Eastwood Town on Saturday.
Moors were hoping to progress against the UniBond First Division side, but poor defending let them down.
Manager Graeme Clark said: "We had enough chances to win, but we didn't take a grip of the game in the first half.
"It was just one of those days - it's a shame, because the players and the supporters have been magnificent so far."
Danny Brunskill and Johnny Butler both hit the woodwork before Eastwood took the lead on 16 minutes through Peter Knox.
Moors then left Gary Sucharewycz unmarked to head in a free kick early in the second half, but they hit back when Tommy Raw scored from a Brunskill pass, and Micky Oliver fired home from the edge of the box.
But Eastwood got the winner when Kelvin Mushambi raced clear and beat Darren Horrigan.
Whitby earned a Wednesday night replay against Hyde United with a 3-3 draw in Manchester.
Whitby led 2-0 through Graeme Williams and Scott Nicholson, but Hyde hit back to lead 3-2 with half an hour left. Nicholson struck late to take the game back to the Turnbull Ground.
