MIDDLESBROUGH midfielder Bolo Zenden believes there is no need for an FA action after Sunday's 16-man melee during his side's draw with Everton, writes Paul Fraser.
The Football Association will await the arrival of referee Dermot Gallagher's match report before deciding whether to take action.
Duncan Ferguson's challenge on Mark Schwarzer sparked a mass pushing and shoving match which spilled over into the Boro net and involved most outfield players from both sides.
No-one was punished at the time but Gallagher called over both captains in an attempt to calm down the situation.
And Zenden insists the official did everything correctly.
"Not too much went on in the net. Ferguson went in late and hit Mark on the nose. I don't think he will disagree with that. But I think the referee dealt well with it," said Zenden.
"All the players were there to calm each other down, they weren't doing anything else. The referee got the two captains together to make sure they calmed the situation and that's exactly what happened.
"The referee dealt with it at the time. Ferguson may have gone in a bit late but he still tried to go for the ball. I don't think there was anything too serious in his challenge. The referee is right not to go on about it too much."
