A CALL has gone out to musicians who want to take part in a North-East arts festival.
Hartlepool Music and Arts Festival attracts participants from across the region and competition heats will take place at Hartlepool Town Hall Theatre on Friday and Saturday, May 13 and 14.
The final will be held on Saturday, June 11. There are about 70 classes of competition, including string, guitar, woodwind, brass, piano, and vocalists.
The annual festival is organised by Hartlepool music teachers Pat Rutter and Derryck Pinfield, and is supported by Hartlepool Borough Council.
Lesley Strickland, Hartlepool Borough Council's events officer, said: "The festival is always extremely popular with musicians and the general public alike, and it attracts an impressive range of competitors from around the North-East.
"Both the heats and the final are always great entertainment and draw large audiences.
"We hope this year's competition will be better than ever - so don't miss the deadline for returning your completed entry form."
For details and an entry form, call the Festival Information Line on (01642) 357934, or pick one up from Hartlepool council offices, the town's libraries or the tourist information centre.
Completed forms must be returned by Monday, February 28.
