AUDIENCES are preparing for a foot-tapping time at the annual village opera.
The Lanchester and District Amateur Operatic Society will be staging The Melody Lingers On at the village's St Bede's School, at 7.15pm, from Wednesday, February 2, to Friday, February 4.
The production features songs by Irving Berlin, such as Blue Skies, Let's Face the Music and Dance, White Christmas and Alexander's Rag Time Band.
Two of the main soloists are Sharon Murray and Richard Woods with David Fiddaman as guest soloist.
The show is produced and conducted by David Hughes. Tickets are £5 (£4 for seniors and £2.50 for children). Children bringing an adult on the Wednesday will get free admission. Tickets are available on (01207) 521458.
