The mosque, in North Lodge Terrace, Pizza Box, in Northgate, and Ying's Chinese takeaway, in Major Street, were all targeted by vandals, who threw glass bottles filled with flammable liquid at the properties during the early hours.
No one was hurt, but all three buildings suffered minor damage.
Last night, Darlington Police said two teenagers were being held for questioning in connection with the incidents.
A 16-year-old was arrested on Monday and a 19-year-old yesterday.
After yesterday's community meeting, in Gladstone Street, Detective Chief Inspector Ted Edgar said: "We have had a full discussion regarding recent events. We reassured everyone that we are taking this matter seriously and will deploy all our possible resources to make sure people can live in Darlington safely."
