POLICE have warned youths to think about the consequences of their behaviour after they threw stones and bricks at traffic.

Police spoke to three teenagers after stones were thrown at cars near Mercury Bridge, on the Richmond to Catterick Garrison road, on Monday.

The incident happened less than a week after a lorry was hit by a brick while travelling through Catterick Village.

A group of youths was seen running from the area.

Sergeant Mick Griffiths, from Richmondshire Community Safety Partnership, said: "This kind of behaviour could cause an accident where someone is seriously injured or even killed.

"If that was to happen everybody involved would be in serious trouble."
