A BENEFIT night in aid of the Asian tsunami disaster fund will be staged at a North-East theatre next week.
Derwentside company Theatre Cap-a-Pie will host the event at The Store, in Dipton, County Durham, on Thursday, January 27, from 7.30pm.
The event will see the premier of Cap-a-Pie's latest production, Oh, I Do Like To Be - the first major production to be staged in the newly-refurbished venue.
The performance will be followed by an art auction and post-show entertainment.
Cap-a-Pie writer Anne Bromley said: "The piece was written after the recent airing of a TV documentary which reflected on the experiences of people affected by the 1953 hurricane which caused widespread flooding along the east coast.
"Little did we realise the resonance that the piece would take on given the tragic events in the Indian Ocean and the flooding that has ravaged the North-West over the past few weeks."
Tickets cost £7 with all proceeds to official DEC fund.
To book for this, and for public performances on January 28 and February 3, 4, 17, 18, call (01207) 571177.
