ROAD rage killer Kenneth Noye has been moved to a special security unit in the region following a foiled escape bid.
The 58-year-old had an armed police escort and was also trailed by two helicopters for the 160-mile trip from Whitemore prison, Cambridgeshire, to Full Sutton maximum security prison, near York. He is being kept in a special security unit within the prison, one of the most secure of its type in the country.
Noye had plotted to escape Whitemoor with cocaine racketeer Ronnie Soares, but the pair's bid was foiled by prison staff.
The move was ordered after it was decided that Noye - who has offered £5m for help to escape - was too big a risk at Whitemoor.
Noye is serving life for the M25 killing of Stephen Cameron, 21. Soares, 54, has also been moved, to Frankland Prison, Durham.
