FOOTBALL bosses are asking former players and club officials to search their attics for a missing trophy.
The Brancepeth Aged Miners' Cup has not been seen since it was stored for safe-keeping in the late 1990s.
Alan Britton, the secretary of Willington WMC Football Club, in County Durham, wants to revive the Brancepeth Aged Miners competition, and would like the 2ft trophy to present to the winning team.
Until six years ago, it went to the winners of an annual match between Willington WMC and Willington AFC, of the Northern League.
Anyone who knows where the cup is has been asked contact Mr Britton on 0798 002 2090.
