A FORMER Page Three pin-up and glamour actress - who has just turned 60 - is to challenge Tony Blair for his North-East seat in the General Election.
Cherri Gilham, who was a Hill's Angel on the Benny Hill Show in the 1970s, decided to stand against the Prime Minister because she felt powerless when opposing the war in Iraq.
The actress has had flings with Sylvester Stallone and Omar Sharif, and has no experience of politics, but believes she understands what makes people tick.
She was in 1970s movies Confessions of a Sex Maniac, Girls Come First and The Stud.
Ms Gilham, who lives in Wandsworth, London, wants to change her name by deed poll to Cherri Blair Out Gilham and visit Sedgefield, County Durham, later this month to win support for her anti-Blair campaign.
She said: "I feel worried that Bush will lead Blair into a war with Iran and that it will end in nuclear war."
John Burton, constituency agent for the Prime Minister, said: "Anyone is entitled to stand for election, but I am sure the people of the Sedgefield constituency are happy with their MP."
