A spokesman has been appointed to champion the issues of preserving the environment and saving fuel in North Yorkshire.
Nick Coakley, 24, has been confirmed as the environment and energy conservation officer for Ryedale District Council.
The post is split into two responsibilities - energy conservation in homes and business, and wider environmental issues.
He will also be initiating schemes to increase the uptake of many grants that are available for home insulation.
"Most importantly, I will be helping people and communities realise their environmental aspirations through the community plan," he said.
