A GROUP of youngsters are creating a community park which they hope will encourage wildlife.
The group of 13 to 17-year-olds, are transforming the area behind Butterfly World in Preston Park, Eaglescliffe.
They hope to attract different species of butterfly and are developing a pond.
They also want to create sculptures, a mini-stage for concerts and Braille boards.
They aim to create the feeling of a secret garden and are fencing it in using oak doors.
John Tierney, citizenship and democracy officer at Stockton Borough Council, said: "The young people are keen to develop the garden so everyone can enjoy it and with this in mind they always welcome new members."
Anyone who would like more information should call the council on (01642) 393939.
