TWO new nurses have been appointed at a Teesdale school to look after the health needs of pupils and staff.
Clare Rose and Louise Errington replace Sister Hazel Nevin at Barnard Castle School, giving the school medical cover six days a week.
Sister Nevin has returned to her native South Africa after four and a half years with the school.
Teaching will be an integral part of their jobs as they will discuss issues such as sexual health, drugs, alcohol and healthy lifestyles with pupils.
They will also hold drop-in sessions for youngsters to discuss any worries and be on hand on Saturday mornings to deal with sports injuries.
