CHILDREN from a Derwentside sports club are jumping for joy after taking part in a trampolining contest at Washington Leisure Centre.
Seven members of the Louisa All-Stars Trampoline Club, in Stanley, came away with trophies from the northern region graded competition.
First-place winners for their age group: Mark Anson, 15, of Newcastle; Jen Car, 14, Newcastle; Charlotte Hayward, nine, Stanley; Oliver Lofthouse, six, Burnopfield; Emily Talbot, five, Stanley. Second-place winners: Deej Macleod, 13, Newcastle. Third- place winner: Alice Kitchen, six, Stanley. Mark and Deej also qualified to the next grade.
Youngsters aged five to 19 meet at The Louisa Centre for club sessions with casual practices on offer twice a week.
A club spokesman said: "The kids absolutely love bouncing around so they are ecstatic with their success.
"They are not scared to learn new moves because they are shown how to do it properly. The coaching is excellent and you can see they are delighted when they can do a new trick.
"The club is doing really well and looks like it is going places."
Louisa All-Stars Trampoline Club meets on Friday, but potential new members must first attend casual sessions held on Wednesdays, between 5pm and 8pm, and Saturdays, between noon and 4pm.
