A GROUP of embroiderers hopes to have a fundraising appeal all sewn up.
Five women are stitching an unusual quilt to raise cash for the Redcar Lifeboat fund. The friends, who developed their skills at Askham Bryan College, Guisborough, are featuring local landmarks in their quilt.
Pat Moore, Margaret Lawson, Helen Lawson, Betty White and Sylvia Maggs decided to incorporate local features such as Redcar Clock, the Zetland Lifeboat, Coatham boating lake, the old pier and Locke Park.
The quilt will hang in the Redcar Lifeboat Museum after being displayed in the college.
Postcards of the quilt will be on sale at various locations, including the Askham Bryan Centre at Guisborough. Proceeds from their sale will go to the lifeboat appeal.
