HOUSEHOLDERS are being urged to think recycle their waste rather than junk it.
A brochure is being delivered to homes covered by Redcar and Cleveland Council, highlighting plans to deliver green-waste wheeled bins to about 48,000 homes with gardens.
Collections will alternate, one week for normal waste with plastic bottles and the following week for green waste and other recycable rubbish.
Coun Bob Stanway, cabinet member for environmental improvement, visited Alison and Malcolm Lambert at their home in Hunstanton Grove, New Marske to present them with a prize as the recycling family of the month.
He said: "With the enthusiasm of families like the Lamberts who involve everyone at home in recycling, I'm sure we can turn this scheme into reality."
