A vandal has caused up to £2,000 of damage by smashing windows in Coxhoe.
The youth, thought to be in his late to mid-teens, was seen destroying two large shop windows on the village's Front Street.
He also destroyed two others at nearby premises and police are appealing for help in catching him.
"This incident was vandalism for the sake of it. Some of the young people around Front Street on Friday night must know who was behind it and we would urge them to ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555111, which they can do anonymously,'' said Sergeant Steve West.
Witness saw two of the windows being attacked at about 9pm.
The businesses, which include a chemists and a bakers, face a total repair bill that could come to £2,000.
The culprit is described as being 15 to 18, slim and about 5ft 9in.
He was wearing a blue baseball cap and a blue tracksuit top with white stripes down the arms.
