POLICE are trying to trace the relatives and friends of a man found dead in his home.
James Barlow, 48, was found at his flat in Rustic Terrace, Newbiggin, Northumberland, on Wednesday.
A post-mortem examination failed to establish the cause of death, and further tests are being carried out.
Mr Barlow lived alone in a first-floor flat above a shop, and was a familiar figure in Front Street, Newbiggin, frequenting local off licences.
Detectives have been unable to trace relatives, although it is believed he may have a son who lives outside the area.
They want to trace anyone who may have seen him or had contact with him in the past few weeks.
Anyone with information is asked to call 0191-214 6555 ext 63695.
