POLICE have recovered £500 worth of drugs following a series of raids.
Gateshead West Community Team carried out the raids in Cedar Grove, Ryton.
The raid followed concerns raised by people about increasing disorderly behaviour and drug dealing.
Officers recovered what is thought to be cocaine, cannabis and a batch of tablets.
Six men and one woman were arrested for offences including possession of class A drugs and deception.
Community beat sergeant Mick Robson said: "We would like to assure the local community that we treat such information very seriously and will take swift action to address the concerns of local people.
"Anyone with information relating to drugs or any other criminal activity should get in touch."
