A RADIO station based in the Yorkshire Dales has won a radio industry award.
Fresh Radio, which has a studio in Richmond, has been confirmed as Radio Station of the Year for the Yorkshire and North-East region by the Radio Academy.
The academy praised Fresh Radio for providing a local service in an area with many technical difficulties to overcome.
The station will be nominated for the academy's Sony Radio Awards in London, in May.
Managing director Dave Parker said: "Over the past 12 months we've done a great deal of work to improve the station and to strengthen further its ties with the local community. This award is recognition for that hard work.
"We have a small team of people who work very long hours, and only through their hard work and dedication have we been able to win this award."
Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles presented the award to the Fresh Radio team at the Leeds College Of Music, on Friday.
The station broadcasts from a network of transmitters around the Dales on 936am, 1413am and 1431am.
