A PLEA for temporary planning permission to use a farm building for killing poultry and game as well as processing meat has been approved.
P Hutton Ltd secured permission from Harrogate Borough Council for the business at Rougham Farm, Arkendale, between Boroughbridge and Knaresborough.
But planners have imposed a number of conditions, including banning direct sales to the public from the building.
They have also stipulated that the killing poultry and game must be limited to a seasonal basis - six weeks before Christmas Day and four weeks before Easter Sunday this year.
Planners also say there must be no vehicle access other than the existing farm access.
The firm has been told if any evidence is found of bats in the building before conversion work starts English Nature must be informed immeidately.
