COUNCILLORS are being urged to approve a planning application to build 46 houses in north Durham.
Members of Derwentside District Council's development control committee will consider the proposal at Genesis Way, in Consett, tomorrow.
They previously deferred making a decision because of concerns over the potential for increased traffic congestion at the junction of Berry Edge Road and Albert Street.
Developer George Wimpey North has submitted a transport assessment in an attempt to reassure members that the development will be made safe.
Durham County Council's highways development control officer said the assessment showed that extra traffic generated by the development would not affect the Albert Road junction with Berry Road.
No alternative means of access have been found to be viable.
The traffic report concluded that the existing layout of the plan will be able to accommodate traffic flow to 2015 and beyond without an extra access measures required.
