A NEWLY-APPOINTED headteacher has carried out one of her first jobs by choosing a head boy and girl.
Carolyn Roberts takes up the post at Durham Johnston Sixth Form College after four years as head teacher of St Hild's C.E. School in Hartlepool.
Voting took place among year 12 students, and involved staff evaluations and interviews by a panel of senior students and teachers.
Alexander Hogg was selected as head boy, with David Barclay as his deputy, Natalie Smith as head girl, and Sarah Wakefield as her deputy.
