A club of self-employed people and owners of small companies has opened in Shildon.
The Connect club was founded by a group of business people and is based in the town's Business Centre.
It provides members with a support network and opportunities to socialise, share experiences and promote their work.
Member Michael Browne, who owns MB Safety Services, said: "Connect is designed to give individuals the opportunity to meet up with others who understand what you are experiencing. It also allows for people to form business relationships with other local enterprises and discover the ways in which everyone can help one another."
Connect is looking for new members.
Membership of the club is free and the next meeting is at the Shildon Business Centre, Dabble Duck Industrial Estate, on February 17, from 2pm to 4pm.
