A MARKETING manager has been named the region's top student after completing his qualification at a Darlington college.
For the past year, 40-year-old Timothy Abbott has been studying a post-graduate diploma in marketing at Darlington College of Technology. And now he has been awarded the accolade of top marketing student by the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Mr Abbott, from Bishopton, near Stockton, trained as an engineer but moved into sales and marketing with his Billingham-based company Johnson Matthey Catalysts.
He said his wife Stephanie and children Benjamin, nine, and Jasmine, seven, were all proud of his achievement.
