THE days of Darcy and the style of the Regency era have been recreated by students.
Design students at Cleveland College of Art and Design were inspired by Colin Firth's portrayal of Mr Darcy in the hit television adaptation of Pride and Prejudice.
Now their costumes are to be featured exclusively at Regency Ormesby Hall, on Teesside, in October.
Every year, second-year students at the college, in Hartlepool, must create a set of clothes which would suit a TV or theatre set.
Their efforts are judged as part of the students' BA (hons) degree.
Lecturer Gayle Evans said this year's Regency-era costumes were particularly splendid.
She said: "The students have really exceeded themselves this year.
"They went to great efforts and even went to the Costume Gallery, in Manchester, to find out more about this style of clothing.
"They used fabrics from the period to really bring that authentic feel.
"The students are in big demand and have recently worked on the production of Alice in Wonderland at The Arc in Stockton."
