More than 60 operations have had to be postponed at a North Yorkshire hospital because of a shortage of beds.
Scarborough General Hospital spokeswoman Gilly Collinson said the reason was more people being admitted with flu and similar illnesses. Some elective operations have been delayed but it is hoped they can all be carried out in the next few weeks, she added.
"We do apologise to the patients and their families for the inconvenience, but it has been unavoidable," she said,
