Initiatives offering opportunities for out-of-work young people are starting.
The Prince's Trust is launching a 12-week programme offering 17 to 25-year-olds the chance to learn skills, earn nationally-recognised qualifications, build self-confidence and make friends.
Everyone taking part works on a community project, takes part in a residential activity week and does two weeks' work experience.
Three-quarters of unemployed people on the courses find work or go into training.
