A PUB burglar is facing jail after telling a court he would continue to defy a curfew.
Harrogate magistrates imposed the 8pm to 7am curfew on Gary Clegg, 46, on December 16 after he had pleaded guilty to trespassing on the premises of the Hornblower Tavern in Old Market Place, Ripon, with another man.
Clegg, of Bondgate, Ripon, appeared before the same court yesterday to admit a breach of the curfew after being spotted in Ripon's Market Place in the early hours of New Year's Day.
The court was told Clegg was also being investigated for removing his electronic tagging device.
Clegg's solicitor, Geoffrey Rogers, said Clegg, who was also subject to community punishment and community rehabilitation orders, did not want the curfew to continue.
''He has made a decision that he is not able to cope with the order. If he is given another chance he tells me he will breach the order again,'' said Mr Rogers.
Court chairman Lindsay Councell revoked the curfew order and adjourned the hearing until February 23, when Clegg will be re-sentenced.
