A CAMPAIGNING law graduate who helped win justice for a man wrongly imprisoned has won a legal prize.
John Morgan, 26, from Darlington, was awarded Newcastle Law Society's prize for the University of Northumbria Exempting Degree.
The prize is awarded for the best first-class honours student on the course.
In 2003, Mr Morgan played a key role in overturning a Home Office ruling that a Tyneside man, wrongly jailed for robbery, should not receive compensation.
Mr Morgan, and fellow student Terry Cape, helped secure compensation for him.
Mr Morgan said: "I am delighted to receive the award, but credit is due to lecturers and staff for their encouragement and commitment to their students."
