AN MP went back to school yesterday, joining pupils for a school dinner and an assembly.
Stockton South MP Dari Taylor joined pupils at Egglescliffe CE Primary School, in Eaglescliffe, at the invitation of 11-year-olds Jack Millward and Rosie Cowie.
Headteacher Gill Wild said: "We are very excited. It is tremendous for the school that we have a prominent figure like Dari responding to the children's request.
"We are trying to give the children independence and communication skills as citizens of the world.''
The MP was invited to visit the school, having met Jack and Rosie last year when she presented a digital camera to the school in return for Tesco Computers for Schools vouchers.
Mrs Taylor said: "I was delighted to accept Jack and Rosie's invitation to join them for lunch and watch their special assembly.
"After presenting the digital camera to the school, I asked if I could see how, and in what way, they use technology in their lessons.
"I am in absolutely no doubt that the Egglescliffe pupils will have much to teach me.''
