UNEMPLOYED young people are being given the chance to take part in a Prince's Trust scheme.
People aged between 16 and 25 are eligible to join teams of 15 for the 12-week-long projects.
The package includes taking part in community projects and two weeks' work experience, and is designed to help develop practical skills.
Participants can achieve a nationally recognised qualification as well as career advice.
The course is free and those taking part can still collect benefits. A scheme is already running in Bishop Auckland. For details call Jo Hull or Gillian Nelson on (01388) 664211.
A second scheme is scheduled to start in Consett on Monday, February 7 where the contact is Helen Daglish, on (01207) 502680.
A third scheme also begins on Monday, February 7, in Durham. Anyone wishing to take part can call Matthew Wigmore or Gillian Nelson on (01388) 664211.
Anyone not sure about which team to join can call freephone 0800 842842.
