Although he's not much of a price (around 3-1) Your A Gassman appeals as the winner of the Sky Bet Chase over three miles at Doncaster (3.25) this afternoon, writes Janus.
Ferdy Murphy's seven-year-old won his bumper and also scored over hurdles but, in keeping with his physique, always looked the sort to do better over fences and shaped well behind a fair sort on his chasing debut at Kelso.
However, following a fluent win at Newcastle, he reversed placings with his Kelso conqueror Gingerbread House back at the Borders venue in December, when he again jumped like an experienced performer and won with more in hand than the winning margin suggests.
The gelding looked well worth his place in the Grade 1 Feltham Novices Chase on Boxing Day but Brian Harding, his rider, had little chance of staying on board when L'Ami fell in front of him.
The demands of this race will suit, he's open to plenty of improvement and he won't be inconvenienced by any of the recent rain.
Of the others, Baron Windrush turned in a career-best effort when winning at Warwick only a fortnight ago but he did have a hard race that day and the drop in trip on this less testing ground may not suit as well.
The biggest danger may be Colourful Life, who wouldn't want too much rain. He turned in his best effort over the larger obstacles when successful at Newton Abbot on his penultimate start.
