A second play area has opened in Crakehall, near Bedale, with the help of outside funding.
The play area at the village hall was paid for by grants of £5,000 from the National Lottery's Awards For All scheme and £5,000 from Yorventure, which is funded by Northallerton waste management company Yorwaste.
Its completion follows the recent opening of another play area for older children, complete with football area, basketball net and teen shelter, which was funded by Crakehall with Langthorne Parish Council.
Parish Councillor Katherine O'Neil said: "A pre-school playgroup uses the village hall so the new play area will be very well used by children who attend that, as well as those who live nearby.
"Both play areas are already proving popular - they provide a safe place to play away from the streets and so are a welcome addition to the village."
