EIFION Williams and Micky Barron sailed through their Hartlepool United comebacks yesterday to put themselves in contention for the weekend trip to Chesterfield.
Pool go to Saltergate on the back of a 12-game unbeaten run and, while boss Neale Cooper is loathe to change his starting line-up, the pair will add experience to a youthful bench.
Williams scored in the 1-1 reserve draw with Rotherham, while Barron came through the 90 minutes unscathed on his return from knee surgery.
Baron had a chance to win the game in injury time, but lost his footing on the Rotherham area after making his run from halfway.
"In the first-half we were poor, but we changed a few things around after the break,'' he said.
"We were well on top after that and should have won.
"I think it was just a bad touch that let me down but I was in their box after 90 minutes, so I'm happy I was still running at that stage!"
Pool fell behind but Williams levelled on the hour. He was replaced soon afterwards in his first game after falling ill before the FA Cup replay at Boston two weeks ago.
